Our Family Hubs teams are keen to welcome input from parents and carers who use our services. Your feedback is so valuable in helping us to develop the ‘Family Hubs’ offer.
We are currently working with eight parents and carers who have volunteered as Family Hub Community Champions. They have engaged with over 70 students with children to find out what they knew about the Family Hubs and what further support they would like, and attended a regional volunteer celebration event.
The Family Hub Community Champions are also involved in the ‘Community Conversation’ project being run by Middlesbrough Voluntary Development Agency, Middlesbrough Children’s Services, and supported by Lincoln University. The project aims to capture the voices of parent and carers from 20 diverse community groups across Middlesbrough, and support them to share their experiences with services to meet their community needs.
In addition, Family Hub Community Champion volunteers will have opportunities to speak directly to the managers of our services, have close links with their local Family Hubs to promote their work, and be supported to check progress on service developments.
Do you want to get involved? We would love to hear from you – email kathy.peacock@middlesbrough.gov.uk to have your say.
