Middlesbrough mams – you are all mamazing!

If you are pregnant or have recently welcomed a new baby – congratulations!! If you’re thinking about breastfeeding, we have lots of support and inspiration from our Mamazing mams.

Meet our mams

Courtney: For a mum expecting a baby I would definitely say that breastfeeding is a journey.

Lorna: I would say take it easy on yourself, like it’s a learning curve, you’re learning, baby’s learning.

Hayley: Breastfeeding, well it certainly wasn’t easy for me at the start and I don’t think it’s easy for anybody really to begin with.

Sue: It’s amazing and it’s one of the hardest things you’ll ever do, but it’s just so amazing at the same time.

Lauren: It’s just like you’re pouring love into the person that you love the most.

Erin: You expect it to be the most natural thing in the world and sometimes it just doesn’t work as easily as you’d like for it to. Just always, always get support when you need it.

Eleanor: It’s a learning curve for both of you and breastfeeding looks very different for me as it does to somebody else.

Laura: There is nothing like the bond that you have with your child when you are breastfeeding.

Amy: Talk to your partner. You know, if you’re in a relationship, you don’t want to be in a situation where, because you’re breastfeeding you’re up all night, that you don’t want to then resent them, just for like human things like sleeping and you then feeding.

Courtney: To be one of the Mamazing mams is quite a big thing, like I’m quite proud of it really.

Eleanor: We’ve had an absolutely fantastic day, we feel very, very glam, don’t we? We don’t usually look like this at all, so if this could be a full thing every time we come to a hub that would be lovely. It just feels special to be celebrated and breastfeeding is amazing, it’s the best thing that I’ve ever done and being a mum is amazing.

Erin: I like the idea of giving that same support that I’ve had to receive myself.

Katy: If I could just help one other mum to be like more confident in breastfeeding and normalise it a little bit more, then it was all worth it.

Lorna: That’s the best thing in the world for me, that toothless smile.

Sue: Oh watching them grow up.

Katy: When they want that cuddle from you and you just know that you don’t have to be perfect all the time, it’s just enough is enough sometimes.

Emma: As a human I didn’t think love like this existed and even though she’s a nightmare sometimes, I wouldn’t change her for the absolute world.

Erin: You see the world again through the eyes of a child and it’s incredible.

Chelsea: The achievements, the sense of fulfillment it gives you.

Courtney: I feel like I’ve got a purpose and my purpose is him.

Amy: Just having someone who looks at you like wholeheartedly and knowing that they fully depend on you.

Laura: Just watching them flourish and develop is the most rewarding experience in the whole world.

Hayley: They’re little characters, I know they’re happy, they’re healthy and they’re loved, and yeah as much as it’s sometimes tiring, it’s the most rewarding thing in the world.
