An antenatal programme delivered through Middlesbrough’s Family Hubs is giving parents to be and their babies the best start in life.
Sarah and Mark feel much more prepared for the arrival of their little bundle of joy after completing the Welcome to the World programme.
The initiative has helped them to understand their future role as parents, as well as increasing their knowledge of their unborn baby.
Mark told us: “I loved learning about the baby’s brain – I did not realise how much brain development takes place in the womb and that they are learning all the time.
“It’s encouraged me to talk and sing more to the baby, so I feel more connected to him.”
Sarah added: “I loved the sessions they were brilliant – we were made to feel really comfortable. It helped to motivate me to be the best mum I can be for my child.
“I would definitely recommend these sessions for expectant parents.”
The Welcome to the World programme is offered from approximately 22 weeks into pregnancy.
